Chief Financial Officer

📍 London, UK (Hybrid)

Are you a driven finance leader ready to make a profound impact on a dynamic organisation?

We are looking for a Chief Financial Officer to become a key player in shaping the company’s future, ensuring financial stability while driving strategic initiatives that support sustainable scaling.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in a high-growth consultancy that places a premium on culture and progressive leadership.

Chief Finance Officer (CFO) role summary

The CFO will be a core member of the leadership team, reporting directly to the CEO and playing a pivotal role in shaping and executing the financial and operational strategy to support the company’s growth ambitions. Working within a decentralised, values-driven business model, the CFO will provide clear guidance and expert insight without being prescriptive, enabling teams to make informed, autonomous decisions. This is a hands-on position requiring a leader who can balance strategic advisory responsibilities with day-to-day management. The ideal candidate will have a deep alignment with the organisation’s people-first culture and be a champion of its team-of-teams model, ensuring financial and operational strategies enhance rather than constrain the company.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO, providing insight on financial planning, performance, and risk management.
  • Lead all aspects of financial planning and forecasting, establishing metrics that drive sound financial and operational decision-making.
  • Foster a culture of accountability and transparency within the finance team and across the organisation.

2. Operations

  • Collaborate with the Head of Operations to co-lead the design and optimisation of scalable processes, infrastructure, and systems that support efficient company growth.
  • Partner on key initiatives to enhance project delivery, resource allocation, and operational performance.
  • Ensure alignment between financial strategy and operational execution, enabling the business to scale effectively without compromising its cultural values.

3. Revenue Operations

  • Work closely with the Revenue Operations Lead to co-lead efforts to optimise revenue forecasting, pricing strategies and margin realisation.
  • Provide strategic input to improve revenue cycle management and ensure alignment between commercial strategy and financial goals.
  • Support cross-functional initiatives to enhance business development processes and drive predictable, sustainable growth.

4. Risk Management

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate financial, operational, and strategic risks to ensure the company’s resilience and continuity.
  • Develop and implement risk management frameworks, policies, and processes that align with regulatory requirements and best practices.
  • Monitor and manage exposure to currency, market, and credit risks, ensuring the business remains agile and adaptive to external changes.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to instil a proactive approach to risk awareness and accountability across the organisation.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and creativity in responding to incidents and managing crises, ensuring the organisation is well-prepared to adapt to unforeseen challenges.

5. Hands-On Financial Management

  • Manage day-to-day financial operations across the Group, covering both the UK and US, including accounting, reporting, payroll, and compliance, to ensure timely and accurate financial records.
  • Oversee external relationships with funders, banks, and tax agencies, ensuring the Group maintains strong partnerships.
  • Lead the preparation and successful delivery of the Group’s annual audit, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and presenting clear, accurate financial statements to stakeholders.
  • Implement and oversee internal controls that align with the company’s values driven culture and ensure compliance with local, national, and international regulations.
  • Provide regular financial reports and analyses for executive leadership, offering clear insights into the financial health and performance of the Group.

6. Team Leadership & Development

  • Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing finance, operations and revenue operations team, instilling a collaborative, forward-thinking approach that aligns with the company’s culture.
  • Partner with the wider company to develop financial literacy and encourage shared ownership of the company’s financial and operational success.
  • Drive talent development within the finance, operations and revenue operations teams to build internal capabilities that support sustainable growth.

7. Culture

  • Embody and promote the company’s values-driven, people-first culture, ensuring financial and operational decisions align with its core ethos.
  • Champion the team of teams model by fostering collaboration across groups while maintaining the autonomy of individual teams.
  • Operate effectively within a decentralised business structure, providing clear guidance and insights without being prescriptive, enabling teams to make informed decisions that align with the broader business strategy.
  • Act as a trusted partner to leaders across the organisation, ensuring financial and operational frameworks empower, rather than constrain, the agility and decision-making of teams.
  • Advocate for and protect the progressive culture of the business, balancing financial rigour with the flexibility needed to support innovation and growth.
