Our history
Our birth
Clarasys was born in our now CEO’s living room, with a mission of supporting organisations to solve their toughest business challenges and a vision of creating a great firm to work with and for.
One year later
We had our first ever Associate Consultant intake, hiring 2 graduates and training them up to become great consultants.
Clarasys moved to an employee ownership model
In November 2018, Clarasys employees became the majority shareholders of the business.
Best Companies awards
We also entered the Times Top 100 companies awards for the first time and placed 18th in the list of Top 100 Small Companies to Work For – the highest management consultancy on the list.
US office
Clarasys opened up our US HQ based in Boston, Massachusetts
Where are we now?
We have surpassed 200 people in total including consultants and our internal team. Despite a strange time during Covid-19 our US team are now at around 20 people and growing. Our 17 Associate Consultant intakes so far, have produced fantastic consultants, many of whom we have watched develop throughout their careers, living up to our purpose statement of making a lasting difference to the way people live work and grow.
The Financial Times UK’s Leading Management Consultants report listed us in a record-high-13 categories!
What is our culture like?
Our purpose statement defines us as an organisation that ‘makes a lasting difference to the way people work, live and grow’. And as a non-hierarchical company owned by our employees, we are ultimately a business driven by our people, their passions, goals and development.
We work with each other based on a joint set of shared company values. Our nine central values make us the employee-centred organisation that we are today.
We, as teams, deliver excellence, trust underpins everything we do and we help each other grow. We can be who we want to be at work, with beautifully different perspectives and have the humility to reflect and learn, have courage to do the hard things and own our impact. We love our work.
Awards and recognition
We pride ourselves on being an award-winning consultancy, not only in the work that we do for and with clients but also internally. The Sunday Times has named us as one of the Best Places to Work in 2023, and we were placed as the UK’s 15th Best Mid-Sized Company to Work For in 2022. We were also ranked amongst the Financial Times UK’s Leading Management Consultants 2024, receiving silver status in six categories and bronze in seven categories of their report.
